The subject of a sentence is someone who performs an action.
EXAMPLES:
Vi dricker mycket te. We drink a lot of tea.
Du gillar musik. You like music.
The object of a sentence is someone that something is done to, or something that is the focus of the performed action.
EXAMPLES:
Vi saknar dem hela tiden. We miss them all the time.
Har du sett honom? Have you seen him?
The possessive forms mark ownership.
EXAMPLES:
Jag gav mina biljetter till henne. I gave my tickets to her.
Min hund är större än din. My dog is bigger than yours.
