Reflexive pronouns are words ending with –self or –selves, e.g. themselves. They are used when the object of the sentence is the same as the subject of the sentence:
They bought themselves new bathrobes.
Each person has its own reflexive pronoun:
I | myself |
you | yourself |
he | himself |
she | herself |
it | itself |
one | oneself (unspecified person) |
we | ourselves |
you | yourselves |
they | themselves |
The scissors are sharp, be careful not to cut yourself.
Note that the verb feel does not get a reflexive pronoun:
Wrong: I feel myself tired.
Correct: I feel tired.
The pronoun each other or one another is used when two or more people do the same thing to each other:
The barbers complimented each other on a job well done.
